Professor Mustelin will visit Turku in the week 17. During his visit he will give three seminars, all open to everybody, welcome! Tomas Mustelin, MD, PhD, professor, is the Division Head for Rheumatology at University of Washington. He has had a stellar career both in academia and industry. After MD, PhD at University of Helsinki he pursued his post-doc at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California and continued as PI in the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology and The Burnham Institute for Medical Research for another 15 years. He then shifted gears, taking a “brief sabbatical” in Amgen and MedImmune and Gilead. During his over 10 years of industry experience, he led the discovery of several FDA-approved drugs for autoimmune, inflammatory/respiratory diseases and immune-oncology.
