Professor Mark Ansel, University of California San Francisco (UCSF), USA
Cellular and molecular regulation of Th2 inflammation in the airways and other barrier tissues.
Host: Riitta Lahesmaa (rilahes@utu.fi).
Coffee is served at 10:30.
After his seminar, Mark will be available for lunch with early-career scientists at 12:30 in Bistro Elli, Hotel Sokos Kupittaa. A registration is required. Register for the lunch here: https://link.webropol.com/s/ansel-lunch-2026.
If you want to have a one-to-one discussion with Mark during his visit, reserve a slot in his calendar at https://inflames.utu.fi/contact/reservation-calendars/.
Professor Mark Ansel‘s research group at the University of California, San Francisco, studies the molecular regulation of immune responses that underlie the pathology of inflammatory diseases, with a focus on T cell programming and cytokine genes. They conduct fundamental research on RNA regulation of the immune system. In addition, they collaborate closely with physician scientists, technologists and data scientists to conduct mechanism-oriented human immunology research. Mark Ansel is a co-founder and current Chair of the UCSF Bakar ImmunoX Initiative and an active affiliate of the Sandler Asthma Basic Research Center, the Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology and the UCSF Diabetes Center. ImmunoX and its UCSF Co-Labs provide access to technology platforms and domain experts using a novel collaborative structure and funding model that connects teams of scientists with clinical, biological, technological and computational expertise to maximize the impact of their research program in human immunology.
