SUMMARY:InFLAMES Seminar: Ansel
DESCRIPTION:12th October at 11:00-12:00\nOnsite event\nin Arje Sceinin audi
 torium\, Dentalia\n\nProfessor Mark Ansel\, University of California San F
rancisco (UCSF)\, USA\nCellular and molecular regulation of Th2 inflammati
on in the airways and other barrier tissues.\n\nHost: Riitta Lahesmaa (ril
ahes@utu.fi).\n\nCoffee is served at 10:30.\n\nAfter his seminar\, Mark wi
ll be available for lunch with early-career scientists at 12:30 in Bistro
Elli\, Hotel Sokos Kupittaa. A registration is required. Register for the
lunch here: https://link.webropol.com/s/ansel-lunch-2026.\n\nIf you want t
o have a one-to-one discussion with Mark during his visit\, reserve a slot
  in his calendar at https://inflames.utu.fi/contact/reservation-calendars/
.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nProfessor Mark Ansel's research group at the University of
California\, San Francisco\, studies the molecular regulation of immune r
esponses that underlie the pathology of inflammatory diseases\, with a foc
us on T cell programming and cytokine genes. They conduct fundamental rese
arch on RNA regulation of the immune system. In addition\, they collaborat
e closely with physician scientists\, technologists and data scientists to
conduct mechanism-oriented human immunology research. Mark Ansel is a co-
founder and current Chair of the UCSF Bakar ImmunoX Initiative and an acti
ve affiliate of the Sandler Asthma Basic Research Center\, the Gladstone-U
CSF Institute of Genomic Immunology and the UCSF Diabetes Center. ImmunoX
and its UCSF Co-Labs provide access to technology platforms and domain exp
erts using a novel collaborative structure and funding model that connects
teams of scientists with clinical\, biological\, technological and comput
ational expertise to maximize the impact of their research program in huma
 n immunology.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSelected publications\n\nFassett MS\, Braz JM\
