Biohybrid Photosynthetic Living Materials and Devices
Host: Yagut Allahverdiyeva (allahve@utu.fi)
Join us for an inspiring seminar by Prof. Eleni Stavrinidou, whose groundbreaking research bridges electronics, plant biology, and sustainable materials science.
Prof. Stavrinidou leads the Electronic Plants Group at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics, Linköping University. Her group is pioneering bioelectronic technologies that open new frontiers in plant science, aiming to support sustainable food production and enhance plant resilience in a changing climate.
Prof. Stavrinidou’s research goes beyond conventional boundaries by developing biohybrid technologies and living materials. These systems integrate plants into technological applications, preserving their biological functions while enabling more sophisticated communication between humans and the natural world.
Her research group is also a part of several major research initiatives, including Wallenberg Wood Science Center (WWSC), WISE – Wallenberg Initiative on Materials Science for Sustainable Development and Umeå Plant Science Center.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore how biology and technology come together to shape a more sustainable future!
