Hautaniemi team conducts research to understand and overcome drug resistance in cancer. They use patient-derived multi-modal data, such as histopathology images, DNA/RNA/DNA methylation sequencing data, circulating tumor DNA, radiological images, clinical data and ex vivo data collected from observational, longitudinal and multi-region trial (DECIDER; ClinicalTrials ID: NCT04846933) to characterize chemotherapy resistance mechanisms in ovarian high grade serous carcinoma. The ultimate goal of their cross-disciplinary research is to translate these multi-modal data into testable predictions and further into benefits in cancer patient care.
