Fat in Focus Finland 2026 (FFF2026)
A Symposium on Building a National Platform for Adipose Tissue Research Methods
Finland has strong adipose tissue research across brown, white, and bone marrow fat, using complementary approaches including human imaging and physiology (PET/MRI/CT), clinical cohorts, spheroids/3D in vitro models, organ-on-chip platforms, animal models, omics/fluxomics, and data science. However, collaboration is often constrained by a fragmented methodological landscape: researchers do not always fully understand what other methods can resolve, or how to integrate them into shared, multiscale study designs.
Fat in Focus Finland is a new opening that puts methodology at the centre: what each method measures, its limitations, and how to combine methods across scales (molecules → cells → tissues → whole body). The aim is to catalyse Finland-wide collaborations and EU-competitive consortia by building a shared methodological language and generating concrete joint project concepts.
