Experimental design for hypothesis-driven quantitative fluorescence microscopy

InFLAMES Visiting Professor Teng-Leong Chew will be in Turku from June 17 to 20 and he is leading a one-day miniworkshop on Tuesday 18th June.

The workshop is suitable for everyone from imaging experts to complete novices. No previous knowledge of imaging techniques or microscopy is required, but even more experienced researches are sure to learn something new.

Topics covered in the workshop include various light microscopy modalities, imaging techniques, experiment types and design of hypothesis-driven microscopy experiments, accounting for biases and avoiding them in the experimental design, and accurate reporting of imaging parameters in publications. Participants will also have the chance to familiarise themselves with experiment design and planning through a practical assignment completed during the workshop. A lunch break is included.
