Prof. Mahesh Mahanthappa, University of Minnesota, USA
Scale-invariant principles of molecular self-assembly across lengthscales
Host: Reko Leino (reko.leino@abo.fi)

Coffee and sandwich at 11:45, first come first served!

Six PhD researchers and early-career postdocs are welcome to have a lunch and discuss with Prof. Mahanthappa after the seminar. This is a great possibility to learn hosting skills in a friendly environment and create connections for future. Everyone is welcome to join, BioCity Turku will offer the lunch.

Mahanthappa research group focuses on the development of block copolymer and liquid crystal materials. Their research approach relies on a powerful combination of chemical synthesis, morphological characterization, and physical properties assessments to develop useful materials for a variety of applications. Situated at the interface of chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science, their interdisciplinary research program engages students and postdocs with diverse backgrounds in highly collaborative research. Mahanthappa groups’ research mission is to scalably produce useful polymer and liquid crystals with precise control over molecular architecture and functional group placement, in order to gain molecular–level insights into their structure–property relationships for potentially innovative applications.
