n\n***\n\nOsamu Takeuchi received his M.D. from Osaka University Medical S
chool in 1995. After completing clinical training\, he pursued a Ph.D. at
Osaka University\, where he studied innate immunity under Prof. Shizuo Aki
ra. During his doctoral research\, he identified that different Toll-like
receptors (TLRs) recognize distinct microbial components. He then conducte
d postdoctoral training at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute under Prof. St
anley Korsmeyer. Following this\, he returned to Osaka University as an as
sistant professor\, where he investigated the functional roles of TLR sign
aling molecules and RIG-I-like receptors in infection. In 2012\, he joined
the Institute for Frontier Life and Medical Sciences at Kyoto University
as a full professor\, later moving to the Graduate School of Medicine at K
yoto University in 2018. His current research focuses on RNA regulation in
immune and inflammatory responses\, with a particular emphasis on the rol
e of Regnase-1\, an RNase crucial for cytokine mRNA degradation.
