Everyone is welcome to join\, BioCity Tu rku will offer the lunch.\n\nIf you got interested\, please send an email to biocityturku@bioscience.fi\n\n \;\n\nJuha Klefström is a FICAN Res earch Professor in Finnish Cancer Institute\, a part time Professor in FIC AN-South (HUS) and a part time Research Director in the Translational Canc er Medicine Program\, Medical Faculty\, University of Helsinki. Klefström is an expert in translational cancer research\, breast cancer biology\, i mmuno-oncology\, oncogenes and tumor suppressors\, cell death\, geneticall y engineered mouse models of breast cancer\, mammary gland reconstitution techniques\, ex vivo explant cultures and recombinant viral gene transfer methods. Klefström’s research focuses on therapeutic strategies aiming to exploit oncogene-induced vulnerabilities and he has long-term interest in the apoptotic function of MYC protein. Currently\, his research group e xplores the potential of oncogenic MYC in triggering immunogenic death of the tumor cells.
